Default FUNDRAISER for SheFearsNothing. LTCF unlawfully REVOKED for open carry

    Fundraiser:
SheFearsNothing has retained legal council and we know this revocation appeal will cost at least the $1100 she has spent on retaining the attorney, and possibly more depending on the billable hours.

    Back story:
For background on this revocation please see this locked info thread:
    http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...fo-thread.html

Discussion of the incident is contained in this thread:
    http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...f-revoked.html
Feel free to contribute to the discussion above.

    How to Donate:

Regardless which way you decide to donate please remember we need you to specify WHICH fundraiser you are contributing to and it helps if you include your screen name. This is important because if you inquire if we received your donation we will be unable to confirm without knowing your screen name

    IMPORTANT!
Since we are currently raising funds for THREE different 'causes', please be sure to specify when you donate.

One fund is for individuals who we believe were unjustifiably charged/revoked/denied/etc., currently we have two individuals in that category, Mtn Jack and SheFearsNothing.
The other fund is for legal action against municipalities who refuse to recognize preemption (but only after first attempting to correct the issue by bringing it to their attention in a more gentle manner). Additionally, there is the possibility that one fund may be collecting for multiple individuals or cases at the same time.

If you wish to make a single donation, and split between multiple situations, that's fine, just let us know how you'd like the money divided. Any leftover monies in these funds will be held for future incidents of similar nature. Funds will not be swapped from one cause to the other. Funds that are unspecified may be used for either fund at the discretion of Rich and Greg.

Method 1) PayPal donations can be sent to gnbrotz AT embarqmail DOT com. *Remember, they will take a percentage, but if this is most convenient for you, please feel free.

Method 2) Mail in donations can be sent to Greg at the below address. Please make any checks, etc. out to Greg, so that he can consolidate them with the other funds until disbursement. Mail to:

    Greg Rotz
    1508 Guilford Station Rd
    Chambersburg, PA 17202

Please remember that any unused funds will be held by Greg, on behalf of PA Open Carry, for the next situation that receives our assistance. Yor donation monies held will be used exclusively for legal expenses of affected individuals, and not for any other expenses incurred by PA Open Carry (flyers, travel, etc.). A full accounting of receipts and dispersals (minus personal information) will be available to all donors upon request.

While we do not discourage donations to PAFOA, we remind you that any contribution of PAFOA monies towards cases like this is at the sole discretion of the administrators and is separate from these efforts undertaken by Greg and myself. In the past, some have expressed the desire for their donation to directly benefit individuals in need, and not potentially end up elsewhere. This fund will accomplish that goal.

    Funds collected so far: $2465.05
Additional funds given directly to Meleanie at the Utah CCW benefit: $1220.00
Total legal bills to date: $3214.60
Remaining balance in donation account: $470.45
    (last updated 10/17/08)

At this time, we believe that there will be no further expenses incurred, and are no longer actively seeking for this case.

Question Re: FUNDRAISER for SheFearsNothing. LTCF unlawfully REVOKED for open carry

Is there any reason why we don't wait to see if the other possible routes taken (non-lawyer) pan out first?

I mean, has Melanie tried other alternatives yet?

Absolutely.. First, I doubt the sheriff can undo his action at this late date. He probably already wrote it up.

Second, it sets up case law that it is not permissible to revoke specifically for open carry.

While we know that open carry is legal (not in a vehicle or in Philly without a licence) we do not (or I have yet to see) case law that indicates that it alone isn't cause for revocation

This will give us that case, which means, every sheriff that issues a pamphlet about open carry is going to get a copy of this case and it should stop the practice since it would clearly be a case of corruption to distribute such a pamphlet..

If they continue after the case is found in our (her) favor we can pursue a writ to cease the practice..

Yep... just log in, click "send money" and put Greg's email in the recipient field.
