NRA: (in part) Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law. The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations.

Question....didn't ATF evaluate the design prior to manufacture? I can't believe anyone would run the risk of arrest under federal law by manufacturing and marketing a product that does an end run around machine gun law. BATFE takes its direction(s) from the Executive Branch, as noted by the NRA. Why would the NRA ask that the process be repeated? It must be to look less like the boogie man in the congressional halls the left is always describing. If so, in doing so, the NRA is capitulating to the loonies. Not only is that a bad move, by doing so, it has already yielded its own executive decisions to the whackos, and will do so again in the future, more and more. At some point, the reasons for existing will become overwhelmed with survival tactics, all of which will be short-term and terminal.

The left is winning. It has correctly formed a battle plan to crush the NRA and the NRA is in retreat.

Yes they do just like arm braces, binary triggers, and that new what ever it is rifle that's coming out from Franklin Armory this week. Companies also higher ex ATF compliance consultants like the guy that MAC interviewed to make sure they are within the law before they even present it to the ATF for approval.

Yup and since the investigation is far from done with no credible facts released we don't even know for sure that he used one as opposed to a true NFA item which he was more then able to afford legally.

I don’t worry so much with a Republican controlled Congress and we do need another SCOTUS appointment. However, the NRA does take heat from some in this forum, so paying your dues is key.
