Re: Desert island gun
After seeing this thread for a while, I think I'd choose a Norinco SKS in a jungle stock. They are virtually indestructible, accurate enough, no box mag to lose and 7.62x39mm has enough punch for predator protection, hogs and 2-legged vermin.

Re: Desert island gun
I want my Mosin Nagant 91/30 with its bayonet. Since the island is a desert, there would be nothing to shot at but I could spearfish.

Re: Desert island gun
AR15 Pistol with a 7" barrel (no stock). I know you gun nuts would want it with you 24x7x365. You don't want to lug around anything to big and heavy. The AR15 pistol is compact, can reach out if needed, decent for large/medium/small game (head shot). I can fish with it provided the fish are not too deep. Easy to maintain. And I can use it as fire starter (muzzle flash)! I'd probably have to push pebbles in my ears before I used it.
