Has DelCo been checking references?
This coming Monday is the first day DelCo will accept my renewal application.* They never called my references 5 years ago for my initial LTCF, but there is - quite literally - a new sheriff in town and I'm just curious.
Any recent DelCo peeps with input?
* I wasn't gonna start a separate thread for it, but I did get my renewal notice about a week or so ago. +1 for the new sheriff.

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
Mine is coming up in a few months too so I would like to hear any input on this. Don't think they checked any references for me either back then

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
Just did my renewal, they did not call my references. Put it in Fri before Christmas, got my letter on Jan 9.
Not bad considering 2 holidays in the process.NRA for life.

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
The only reference I found specific to DelCo is here
Delaware County used to illegally call references, including employers, until it was pointed out to them that disclosing information about an LTCF application crime, and my understanding is that they no longer do this

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
I went to the DELCO court house in early January for my renewal. There was one guy ahead of me. Took maybe 20 minutes total for them to do him and then me.
I asked the woman taking my info & picture if there was a slow day or time of day to which she replied that she is always pretty busy. It's a roll of the dice how long you wait.
Got my letter a week ago. Went back last Thursday. There were three or 4 people and a couple ahead of me. They do not make you wait in line again if you are just picking up. The lady behind the counter even said my picture turned out nice !!!
My references were not called.
Took me longer to walk to the courthouse from my truck than it did to get the LTCF.
P.S. Parking is a drag in Media.

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
Update:
I went Monday during extended hours to drop off. Was there a bit more than 30 minutes with 2 others in front of me, 1 behind me, and 2 picking up, though I was being chatty. One of the pick-ups said his took less than 2 weeks. The deputy helping out is brand shiny new, so not fast (yet?).
Both my references are co-workers, so I will know right away if they-re contacted.
I'm scheduled for Jury Duty on Wednesday. Would be really cool if it was ready, would save having to park again. I will be checking since I will already be in the building, because - yes - parking sucks.
For those who are interested, DelCo extended hours for 2018:
Monday evenings until 7:00 PM:
Jan 8, Feb 12, Mar 12, Apr 9, May 7, Jun 11, Jul 9, Aug 13, Sep 10, Oct 15, Nov 19, Dec 10
Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM:
Jan 6, Feb 3, Mar 3, Apr 7, May 5, Jun 2, Jul 7, Aug 4, Sep 8, Oct 6, Nov 3, Dec 1

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
Indiana County doesn't require references for renewals, uses white-out on them if you've filled in the blocks with names. Renewal issued while you wait - turn in form and money, have your picture taken, wait a few minutes, leave with your new license. You get to keep the old one as a souvenir.

Re: Has DelCo been checking references?
Juniata county added a form, now that we have a new sheriff in town. The forum gives them permission to contact your references.
I handed it in blank. When the office lady said I needed to fill it out, I informed her that wasn't going to happen, because that form was illegal, the only thing that needed filled out was the one page form from PSP. I got my stuff after about 20 minutes or so after I handed it in. I overheard her mention to someone in the office (who was obviously being trained) that stated references are only contacted if there is some problem with the PICS check."Cives Arma Ferant"
