Taurus makes a decent 1911 using forged slides and frames they have been more hit then miss as is and made great starting points for hand fitting custom internals and modifications.

I believe it, I feel the same way about the PT92’s as well. Excellent pistols with some small upgrades over their Beretta counter parts.
