At least have spare springs on hand. I agree with running several boxes of ammo (throw some carry ammo in there too) to make sure they run fine.

I bought my G27 3rd gen from a pile of police trade-ins. Running the serial number established it was made November 2004. I replaced the recoil spring.

Recently I got curious about the magazine spring. It measured below spec'd height, so ordered a new one. The new one is visibly longer that the one I replaced.

    BTW, all springs are Glock.

I'd relace the other springs also, especially the striker and extractor. Cheap insurence. I use glock also. Smith and Wesson for theirs and wolf for everything else.

Generation 2. I don't really think that adds any value, but if I'm wrong on that, please let me know

Best I can recall the gen 2 has not light rail. What model is yours? Minor details can make a difference in value.

IANAGS, but may I contribute that I have read accounts and discussions, over the years, one being how WWII weapons found fully loaded and stored all those years fired completely without a failure. That would mean the springs worked, the primers worked, the propellants worked.

Some guys prefer them without the finger grooves, but with the gen 5's being available I don't know how much more desirable the gen 2's are

It not impossible. When a gun starts acting up springs should be one of the things looked at. Magazines can usually be ruled out by just using another one. I am not a gun smith, I have fixed my fare share of IMO, what should have been easily fixed issues.
