Other than the obvious retard in that... this gem speaks to me, "Tax gun sales to prevent violence".. yes, lets tax the folks who buy guns legally so that they can pay for those who get guns illegally. If that doesn't sum up the current liberal mindset perfectly, then IDK

"Barriers" such as illegal to vote more than once, have to be alive to vote, illegals can't vote, etc.

My wife and I lived in Jersey for 3 years and I'm so happy we got out when we did. I feel for you guys, but the masses on the government teet will give up anything for more handouts.

If anyone is thinking of moving to delco or chesco and wants to work with a pro-2A realtor, I'm happy to help. If you don't like me, I know a few other awesome like-minded people in the business I could recommend. I'm happy to answer any questions if you're thinking of moving over here, no strings attached. Unfortunately, can't help you sell in Jersey. No amount of money could entice me to get my license there and go about my business unprotected!

I predict that he will put New Jersey back into a spiraling debt crisis similar to the one that Christie Inherited.
Bullet points 1, 4, and 6 are already alive, well, and redundent, but as a democrat, he probably assumes he knows more about gun laws than those he serves.
Purchasing a hand gun in New Jersey basically requires as many as three background checks, so I find it puzzling how one can streghen that, but my practicality may be my undoing one day.
New Jersey already has a system similar to Pennsylvania to check for the New Jersey version of a "302." It will be interesting to see if Senator Codey, who has been acting governor twice and is a supporter of mental health services, will support the governor if he wants to take away the gun rights of voluntary clientele, which goes beyond the language of the 4473 form.

We really should send the new Gov a gift from all us PA gun owners, anyone have his address?

It's a good thing I always keep a spare bag for situations just like this.

And, I promise you now that they will be met with a signing ceremony instead of a veto pen.

Specifically, as governor Phil Murphy will:
    • Sign commonsense legislation that Christie vetoed: Phil Murphy would start by signing every piece of gun violence prevention legislation that Governor Christie has vetoed. These bills would have enacted bipartisan and sensible solutions, such as keeping guns out of the hands of gang members and domestic abusers.
    • Mandate gun safety training: No one should be able to purchase a firearm without first attending a gun safety training course.
    • Promote smart gun technology: We must regain our position as a leader in the smart gun movement by requiring all gun retailers to carry at least one smart gun once they are commercially available.
    • Keep guns out of the hands of those suffering with mental illness: New Jersey already requires background checks, but it should follow the lead of nearly half the states in the U.S. and require timely reporting of mental illness episodes to the national background check database.
    • Tax gun sales to prevent violence: All gun sales should be subject to a tax that will fund law enforcement, drug treatment centers, and mental health services.
    • Strengthen regulations on gun transfers: Phil Murphy would make it a crime to sell guns without conducting a mandatory background check, and would require individuals to register their firearms kept in the state.
    • Work with neighboring states to promote gun violence prevention: An estimated 80 percent of guns involved in crimes in New Jersey come from out of state. As governor, Phil Murphy will engage partners in neighboring states to find common ground on gun violence prevention efforts.
    • Direct the Attorney General to vigorously defend our gun laws: Governor Christie has allowed the Attorney General’s office to relax enforcement of our gun safety laws, including laws that prohibit illegally transporting guns into New Jersey from out of state. As governor, Phil Murphy would direct the Attorney General to vigorously defend and enforce our gun laws, rather than to act as an agent of the NRA.
LOL---here's a snippet from the CPUSA (Communist party USA) site---Gee, I wonder where he gets his "ideas" from...UGH!!!

    A BETTER WORLD IS POSSIBLE!

In a socialist economy, things get turned right side up. The ownership and control of the means of production would be in the hands of those who do the work. As a result, those of us who produce – the 99% – would make these important decisions together. This would correspond to the way we produce the wealth together.

WE MUST PUT PEOPLE –AND OUR PLANET – BEFORE PROFITS

With the people in the driver’s seat, corporate profits would no longer be Number One. Instead, the things the American people think are most important would come first.

Enough resources would be freed up to do many things. We could fully fund public education and health care for all. We could have mass transit, Social Security, free college tuition, and child care. At the same time, we could remove lead from our pipes. We, the American people, could set other priorities, too.

SOCIALISM = ‘LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS’

In a socialist society, people would get paid for the hard work they do. They would be rewarded for the initiatives they take. The difference? Corporate big shots and hedge fund managers could no longer walk off with trillions of dollars that belong to working families.

War, racism, sexism, and homophobia would lose their corporate sponsors.

We could apply the full power of American ingenuity and technology to reversing climate change and developing green industries.

America’s rich and diverse heritage could flourish in music and literature. Sports, dance, film, and art would be available to everyone. Opportunities would open up for millions of young people to contribute their talents and energy. This would result in well-paying and satisfying careers for our nation’s youth. Small businesses would have a role to play in building this vibrant economy. They would be protected from the unfair advantages given to big corporations.

    BILL OF RIGHTS UNDER SOCIALISM

Socialism in the United States would be built on the strong foundation of our Constitution’s Bill of Rights. This includes making the promises of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and equality for all real. The rights to a job, to health care, and education must also be guaranteed by the Constitution. The criminal justice, police and prison systems must be overhauled from top to bottom to get rid of racial disparity.

VOTING RIGHTS FOR PEOPLE, NOT FOR CORPORATIONS

First he'll tax them, then he'll blame the guns coming from PA...then he'll SUE PA for our so called "lax" gun laws.
