    Default Two old (new to me) revolvers!

    I bought these two revolvers the other day. The S&W is a model 36 no dash from 1971 or 1972. The Colt Trooper 357 is from 1969 (I think). They are both certainly well used but that's fine with me and there is no rust on either of them. They just have a lot of character, right? This is my first Colt so I'm pretty excited about that. I can't wait to take them out to the range!
    I don't know much about the Colt so any info would be appreciated.

    Old new is sometimes the best! I don't carry to many of my wheel guns but they are always fun to shoot.

    Does the Colt say 'Trooper' or just '357'? You can lookup the serial # (if you haven't already) at https://www.colt.com/Customer-Servic...-Number-Lookup

    It says Trooper 357. Thanks for the link. According to that database the gun is from 1969.

    The Trooper is a first class revolver, very popular with policeman in my day.
    ps: Caruso and Durante degli Alighieri, I'm very impressed.

    1982 = J915401 - 1J18600
    1983 = 1J18601 - 1JXXXX

    1957 - stamping of model number at 125000
    1966 - flat latch ends
    1968 - diamond grips end
    1975 - heavy barrel standard

    I (wrench75) found this info on another site and just copied and pasted it here, so I claim no responsibility for the accuracy of the info. though it does seem to jive with the other info I have been finding elsewhere.

    I think The original trooper is the same action as the python without the python barrel. If you wanted to find original stocks they’re I frame and I believe gen 2 but could be gen 1.
    Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.
