NJ is trying has hard as it can to make any civilian gun ownership illegal. A 5 round limit criminalizes nearly all handguns, save for the 5 shot snub nose. It eliminates almost all self loading magazine or clip fed rifles.

I assume this is in anticipation of the National RECIPROCITY act: any visitors would be restricted to a 5 shot snub; just like the old NYC carry permit that the elites could acquire.

If this isn’t tyranny, I don’t know what is.

I believe the bill only applies to semi autos. NJ has the same problem CA, NY does. Their voters don't vote pro gun.
