I have a feeling my father in law from NJ is going to be transferring a lot of firearms to me this year. I think he was going to wait until he got older, but I’m sure he rather give them to me than surrender them. My mother in law still works for the NJ state government so they can’t relocate yet (but will as soon as she does retire).

With democrats holding super majorities in both their house and senate and a newly elected anti gun governor out to prove himself, I would be surprised if this bill doesn't get passed. I suspect the Republicans may offer a 10 round compromise but they don't have the numbers to make any type of deals unless some democrats believe the bill goes too far.

The nomenclature depends on HOW you use something. In a kitchen it's called a knife, base ball it's a bat, for kids it a toy bat, a pry bar, hammers, hatchets, etc are tools. For guns, it's a hunting weapon, a defensive weapon, in an attack a deadly weapon. Therefore. On a range, it's a legal sport, there are no threats, you get my point.

I don't see how NJ's ass-law will survive as is. They are banning a common sport, kitchen utensils, tools and what-ever.

I read through the bill quickly, did not see an exemption for law enforcement. If you have a knife block in the kitchen do they count the sharpening steel ?

I will have to give the bill another read. There appear to be discrepancies between the list of firearms not allowed and the proposed 5 round mag limit, specifically with regards to tube and internal box magazines.

In all reality, when this passes, it will be challenged, and I believe successfully. IIRC the Heller ruling stated that an all out ban on entire types of firearms was unconstitutional.
This would in effect do just that.

The bill is full retard even for Jersey.

He could join the rest of the masses here that are renting spaces in just-over-the-border-in-PA self storage places. Business is brisk from what I understand.
