Not really. Amtrak took over all the passenger service of the major rail lines back in the 1970s because passenger service was a losing proposition for railroads. Passenger services was usually a money loser throughout history but it did well enough into the 60s that the railroads justified it as sort of advertising. With the increases in both air travel and long distance private car travel, trains were dying a slow death.
I love travelling by train. Relaxing. Big seats. You can walk around. Sit a real table and eat off real plates.
