Anyone ever tried pocking the surface of a projectile like a golf ball?

I can definitely see where you could get a big velocity increase with the reduced bullet friction. I will bet that the problem is making the bullet where each dimple is exact and the bullet it balanced. I don't think the bullets were accurate enough.
