I would say 99% of the top pistol shooters in the world do not put their finger on the front of the trigger guard when shooting. I'm guessing it's not better.

That actually looks really good. If I still carried my G30 I'd send it to you for cosmetic surgery.

    Google it.
My question, because I'm still a student of the art, and always trying to get smarter, more educated and knowledgeable, is this.
When you learn a method of gripping the pistol and burn the method into muscle memory by taking a dozen pistol classes , 10s of thousands of repititions trying to become marginally proficient at the art and some one hands you a pistol to shoot that has a rounded trigger guard, how quickly can you overcome the trained grip response to front sight, press.?
I would be interested to see if any decent instructors teach this.
Most of the instructors I've had all instruct to have as much surface area of the hand in contact with the pistol to maximize control.
The finger does not help control muzzle flip. This has been experimented with numerous times ( as per Google fu)

Larger guards do make gloved shooting essier..
How many of us rest the squared off grip against a hard object to increase stability?
I believe most of us can hit a popper at a hundred off hand, or should be able to.

Once again, my opinion is that the majority of trained people do Not put their finger out there.
    My.opinion.

Opinions are like anal apertures. Everyone has them. They all stink. But mine. Ha
Oh. By the way. Im not an expert so perhaps I should not have responded. My bad.

I suppose if it works, do.it.
Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
