That is the answer. The standard rail is wider than the gun. They were introducing it on one of the outdoor channel shows and the sig rep said it, acknowledging people would moan at proprietary but they weren't going to make it larger.

I really like my 9mm P290. It's never had a malfunction of any kind.

It's not striker fired, but DAO with second strike capability. For an itty bitty bug gun, it's accurate as hell.

While I don't have Bigfoot hands like my dad or my grandfather, I wear large sized gloves and have never held a pistol that felt too big.

I don't know why they never caught on, and aren't popular at all.

Yep similar reports in a Sig Facebook group.

My HK VP9 had a lot of FTE and FTF when I originally got it. I was shooting 115 grain FMJ. I switched to 124 NATO and broke it in 500 rounds of that. It functioned without any issues, and now it shoots 115 grain just fine. When I got my VP9, they just started shipping them with the VP40’s recoil spring installed (due to MAC’s reliability tests).

Got to handle a few at the Great American Outdoor Show yesterday. It's heavier than I was expecting. Not too heavy, buy heavier than my P938. It feels nice in the hand and the trigger was pretty nice. I don't consider it a pocket gun, though I'm sure there are folks that will carry it that way. Bummer about all the reliability reports coming out. I'll probably get one, but not until after Sig has worked out their QC issues.

Jesus H Christ Sig. Hopefully it's just a handful of first run, and of course, the malfunctioning guns are the ones that are going to hit the interwebs, but after multiple reports of similar issues, this is a wait and see for me. Looking forward to handling it at the outdoor show, though. Thanks Ronin for confirming the ability to do so.

I have a friend who is highly experienced with hand guns who ordered one through Brownells earlier this week to do his own comparisons. I forward him these videos and will have to wait to see what happens to him.
