School board learns a 20-year active shooter lesson??

In today's paper...a school board in one of the lower Bucks communities is changing its instructions on what to do if an active shooter presents.

Instead of lockdown and hiding in place, experts advocate yelling, running around, and throwing things at the shooter.

A spokesperson explained that after 10 to 20 years of school shooting incidents, it is apparent that hiding under a desk is not a good response.

One of the experts, addressing the parents, explained that on average it takes police seven minutes to arrive and engage, giving the shooter time to find targets.

So, the answer, after 10-20 years of experiences, is to provide the shooter with the added attraction of moving targets for which he need not search.

Not a mention of considering having any ability to shoot the shooter during the seven minute wait for police intervention.

Education is a wonderful thing. Especially when imparted by experts.

I am being serious. We know it takes the cops at the very best 5-10 minutes to show up. And then there is the Parkland fiasco. So instead of hiding under desks and waiting to be shot, is there anything that could increase the chance of the students and staffs survival in lieu of armed folks already on location ?

I believe that active shooters would not engage a school where the teachers are armed and that the teachers would probably never need to pull their guns.
