Hopefully Sessions gets his ass kicked in court. The entire war on drugs needs a serious kick to the balls along with every republican that supports it.

Not just Big Pharma, but look at how much law enforcement and private prisons profit from peoples suffering.

The reality is, we've been fighting a war on drugs for over 100 years (Harrison Act of 1914). And every year, the rate of drug addiction keeps getting bigger.
To an intelligent person, that says the war on drugs is having the opposite effect.

However, the populace and law enforcement have been so completely brainwashed, that even suggesting trying a different approach to drugs in America will cause outrage and vicious personal attacks.

For some reason every gun owner knows that gun bans have the opposite effect on crime.
Yet they cant equate that with other things due to the decades of official propaganda. This amazes me.

There is no profit in anything government gets involved with. It's great for government workers, and such, but's it a giant drain on resources and tax money. Completely wasteful.

    I disagree.
Most states get federal funding for imprisoning people for certain drug offenses.
Also, dont forget how all these little podunk towns get armored personnel carriers and weapons from the military for drug warrants.
Believe me, the states aren't doing this out of charity.

Of course, but because its "profitable" to the groups receiving the charity doesn't mean it's profitable.
Doesn't matter if its the companies receiving the contracts, or the police department that uses it as an excuse to hire on more LEO's and expand, etc, etc. The incentive is huge, but still is being payed by finite sources of tax dollars or more non existent borrowed money. That was my point.

I probably was using your use of profit too literally.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but IMO "Newsweek'' is just one more of many fake news pimps..

Here's a thought, everyone seems to hate "big tobacco" because of their greed and that they supposedly fucked around with cigarettes to make them more addictive.

What happens if the feds make it legal nationwide? Do you guys really think that "big tobacco" is just going to sit back? Nope, they're already tooled up for processing leafy product. They'll step in and drive everyone else out of business, and they'll do exactly what they did with cigarettes. It won't be your neighborhood grower out there that will be getting your pot, it'll be Marlpoto, Newpot, and Campots.
