It doesn't matter what dept. had them! Grab a Model 10 and you'll probably be happy with it! In fact grab 2 and use one as the base for your .38 Special "race revolver" with 6" slab barrel, rib and adjustable sights or red dot, you'll drive 'em wacky!

Go to Robertsons Trading Post - they probably still have Montreal Police model 10 trade ins for $289-$319. I picked one up for $289 it was in great shape!
Free layaway if you choose. And they are great to deal with!

Dude, you're the reason why milsups of all sorts have gotten hard to find!
I'll add my own vote for buying the Model 10. I got a 10-2 last fall at a shop in Chambersburg for $289. Old school gun with the tapered barrel and lanyard ring in the base.

Re: milsurp revolvers - need recommendations
The Model 10 is still a fantastic value in the used revolver market. The market price for police surplus examples has risen by roughly $100. in the past decade or so, but they are still good buys. The model 15 (adjustable sights) may run a bit more, but is also a good buy. The model 15's seem to come with aftermarket grips on a more regular basis, but YMMV. I prefer the barrel of the 10-8, others prefer the "pencil" barrel ... the choice us yours.
My 10-8 shoots where you point it, is smooth and consistent, and eats everything.
I have read elsewhere that any "numbered" model (as opposed to earlier M&P or Victory models) should be safe for use with +P loads. The poster claimed to have confirmed this with S&W.

Yup, have read this on official S&W documentation. But if in doubt jump over to the S&W forums and look it up there.

I found them, after you mentioned them in a post a while ago. Now they're one of my go-to online places to shop. Great people to deal with
