FRONT TOWARD ENEMIES OF THE 2ND AMENDMENT. Would be poetic, seeing as how it is not a gun.

The 49-year old told Oxford Mail: “When I picked it up my thought was this is a really dangerous item and what if a child had come across it and picked it up?

“I was shocked at how it got there and asked myself did it fall from a licensed gun holder or not.

“My main concern was if a child had found this it would be very easy to set it off.”

Mr Moutia said he recognised the cartridge after growing up with parents serving in the Royal Air Force, and with him visiting rifle ranges.

In November, a two-week guns and ammo amnesty across Oxfordshire saw 117 weapons and pieces of ammunition handed in to police.

Items surrendered included antique weapons and BB guns.

Our "hero" was lucky he wasn't prosecuted for touching live ammo without a license by the local authorities. I suspect he immediately called 999 and waited for the police to arrive, then handed them the round so they decided it didn't technically count as possession. In the past helpful citizens have been prosecuted for doing pretty much what he did.

The article actually gave an address that sounded like one of the surrounding residential neighborhoods. Likely a dropped round from the coat pocket of one of the lucky few who actually had it legally. That dude will certainly never come and claim his lost item, thats' for sure!

I did not think it was possible to have even more delicate snowflakes than we have here.
Had to check the calendar, could have been April 1st.

If ammunition was serialized and registered they would be able to punish the perpetrator of this foul deed.

I can't wait to read Gersh Kuntzman's interview with this brave soul.

A true hero would have thrown himself onto the shell to protect the other people from the explosion.

When I went to vote at the municipal center, I found a shot shell on the ground infront of the dumpster in the parking lot. Playground is near by. Kids probibly playing army or cowboys and Indians.

I don't have much experience with Brits other than the crap I read here and other similar sites. But I really have to question a civilization that raises men like the one in the video in this news article.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/vid...hand-open.html

I won't rag on the guy for fainting. That is largely an innate and reflexive response to shock/trauma and he likely had no control over it.

I am revoking his man card for the follow up. An appropriate reaction would have been:

    1. Honey, THAT WAS GREAT! You really got me!, or

    2. What the bloody #?+£€¥√¢€#$$$--+!!!!!!!. are you #@£¢€¶™£ing thinking!!!!?????

This repressed "Everything is OK because you're OK" response is inhuman and, well, gelded.

I think he must be one of the blue-blooded creatures that took over The World's End pub.
