Girlfriend and Gun
Here's a pic of my girlfriend and her new toy. Notice how she lovingly looks at it's sleek lines and sterling appearance as she smokes her cigarette in a sultry manner. And no, no one can have a go with either of them - they are both mine, mine, mine! (So don't bother asking).

Nice Bren gun.
So what does Ronnie look like now?
Is she still a Canadian citizen?

Re: Girlfriend and Gun
I know, I know, it's an old pic. She's a little long in the tooth now but still a great gal. I can't believe that with all the smoking she has done through the years it hasn't bothered her one bit. She celebrates her 97th birthday this year and we are both very happy together. By the way, she is still a great shot, though we had to sell the Bren to get her some new teeth, but as you can see she is still as lovely as ever.
All joking aside, wouldn't it be nice to have one of those as part of your firearms collection? They made them left and right during the war years and I wonder what happened to them all? If they haven't been destroyed, I guess they are most likely sitting in some government warehouse somewhere.Last edited by Defender; January 27th, 2017 at 12:17 PM.

Some I hear became Attic Guns and others like the old shoe shop owner who had his on display. It sat in his front window for over 50 yrs. and when he died his family found out that it was functional and full Mag. See hiding in plain sight is real, to add to the funny it was in a shitcago suburb.

I fired this one a few years back. It's not lefty friendly, with the sights hanging off the left side. Even with it resting on a bench, I couldn't hit a damn thing with it.

Re: Girlfriend and Gun
Couldn't hit anything? Maybe if there had been a bunch of Japanese soldiers down range some and just firing it in the general direction would have resulted in some hits. At the very least it would have kept their heads down and your flankers could have finished up the job. LOL
Unfortunately, I have never had a chance to shoot any full auto WW2 weapons so that must have been quite a treat regardless. If my memory serves me right, from a book I read some time back (written by a combat Bren user), this gun was somewhat temperamental in the field. It had to be kept very clean or else you would have problems.Last edited by Defender; January 27th, 2017 at 03:26 PM.
