    My 3 closest shops don't have them in stock. One quoted $525; another below 500.

    I don't see how. There have always been cheaper options in guns, 15 years ago it was $275 ak's and $60 mausers. Now AR's are dirt cheap because the market is saturated with them.

    ...and isn't it great that the glut is in newly-produced, quality rifles as opposed to "make-'em-work" surplus ? MOA bolt guns starting at aroung $300, quality AR and AR components, and the list continues ....


    I don't have unlimited funds for firearms, and tend to buy what I think I need and can use at the best value for money. That doesn't always mean the least expensive, nor the least.
