    Question New Production Marlin 336C?

I'm looking for feedback on the quality of new production Marlin (Remlin) 336C rifles from those with actual hands on experience. As I understand it, the quality has improved over what it was five years ago.

    Thanks in advance...

Quality varies rifle to rifle, I would not order online, go to store and get your hands on it, cycle action, make sure front sight is straight, wood to metal fit meets your liking

    +1
There are still shit ones out there and there are a few that would be acceptable, depends on your standards.

    This should end the thread.

But you’ll soon have a ton of responses telling you to find a “real” Marlin.

After they moved production to New York, quality took a nosedive. After two to three years it was improving to an acceptable level, and more recently as their finances tanked the quality went back down. So it is a crapshoot, and you need to be able to handle and inspect whatever you might want to buy.

I'd rather have a 30-50 year old Marlin than a new one regardless of how "OK" the new one is.
    "Improved shit" is still shit.
Really though, there's no comparing the quality of any old rifle regardless of manufacturer.

If you simply want a hunting rifle to bang around the woods, I guess anything will do.
I'd still buy an old, used one though if that was my reason for buying.

You can get the old ones cheap at shows and reasonable at most shops in the area if your going to use it for hunting you don't need a safe queen. I'd check your local shops, this time of year is the best time to buy used deer hunting rifles.
