That's for stealth; the angles break up the radar return signature.

The went whole hog on cheesegraters, too.

I’ve come to he conclusion that being able to feel a raised bump in the dark to ensure a weapon is loaded isn’t a bad thing even if it makes the weapon a little ugly in the daylight.
But yes, I’d still rather do without them.
As far as I can tell the only one of the three it has is the manual safety, which bizarrely appears to lock the slide shut when its engaged. WTF ruger?

If it has a nice trigger then I’ll probably get one since they should be cheap. If the trigger isn’t good, then forget it. I haven’t tried the lcp 2 yet.

Got to handle one today at Rural King, big box store so I couldn't test the trigger. They had them for $329, same price as the Remington POS 9

    Pros
Feel pretty good in the hand, fairly compact, sights seemed OK, build quality was typical Ruger

    Cons
Wasn't impressed with the type of finish they used, seemed to pick up a lot of finger prints. Slide release was really tight (as seems to be the style of the times) which may or may not loosen up with use, and as I thought the safety prevents the slide from opening when on, which makes no fucking sense to me.

Around $300 is probably tops for what I would pay for one, if you're in the market for that sort of gun give them a look.
