It looks so much thinner (grip) than a Glock. Is that just an illusion?

It feels thinner in the grip to me, but it could be just the difference in grip angle. Size and weight seem almost identical to the Glock 19. Personally this feels better to me in my hand, but I've never found Glocks to be comfortable.

Yes the grip is more thinner, a lot more comfortable to my hands than my Glock 19s. I did a range report recently uner the pistol section if you care to read. I have ccw G 19s for over 30 years maybe age but definitley more comfortable and no FTFs or FTEs.

Not the prettiest pistol out there - can't compare to the beauty of a Hi-Point... But at that price it should be a nice option for people and from a well known reputable manufacturer as long as it functions .

Yeah, I thought it was FUGLY when I first saw it, but in more clear photos and video, it's not as bad as I thought - still not pretty.
That said, as you mentioned, an affordable, GOOD handgun is always a welcome addition to the market.

Sometimes a gun that costs 2x more has some nicer features. Those features are almost never worth 2x the price though.

I watched Hickock45's review on it. I am interested. I have to get my hands on one to see how it feels. I am getting the new carbine and would not mind having the same mags for a handgun and long gun. My current 9mm handgun is a Ruger p-89 which I might sell if a get the Security-9. I also have a lcp for deep cover.

If it does not feel good in my hand I will just stick with my p-89 and swap the magwell in the carbine for the glock mags. I shoot my current pistol very well so the security 9 would have to be close. Decisions decisions.
    Some people just plain suck.

    Pros
Feel pretty good in the hand, fairly compact, sights seemed OK, build quality was typical Ruger

    Cons
Wasn't impressed with the type of finish they used, seemed to pick up a lot of finger prints. Slide release was really tight (as seems to be the style of the times) which may or may not loosen up with use, and as I thought the safety prevents the slide from opening when on, which makes no fucking sense to me.

Around $300 is probably tops for what I would pay for one, if you're in the market for that sort of gun give them a look.
