Default Did the founders include women when they wrote the 2nd amendment?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It would seem reasonable to wonder if they had women in mind when they said a well regulated militia was necessary to the security of a free State. Is there any historical evidence that women were members of the militia? The argument that women are people is shaky, considering they could not vote until the 1920s.

I doubt it. The men took care of the women (and children) way back when.

I got to thinking, in all the arguments the left makes about the wording of the 2nd, I've never seen them say anything about women having guns and licenses and the 2nd not mean for them. They probably want to, but don't want to run afoul of the feminists.

The framers of the Constitution did not include women or minorities therefore it is null and void since it is racist and gender biased.

In 1792, Congress passed the Uniform Militia Act, which remained the basic militia law of the United States until the twentieth century. This act established an "obligated" militia, based on universal military service. All able-bodied white men between the ages of eighteen and forty-five were required to enroll.

As Penn & Teller explained, "the people" were given the right to bear arms because a militia was necessary for the security of the state, not because they were considered part of it. Since some of the framers didn't believe the country would need to raise a standing army, the various militias were considered the threat, not the nonexistent standing army.

The 2nd has a subjective clause, defining the militia as the people, or is it the people as the militia.
