Wife needs fingerprints done for out of state permit,State Police do not do this and reffered to UPS/CODING DEPT in Pocono Summit ? But card is emboldened and says LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY ! Any one elese run into this problem ? and where did you get prints done ? TY/MDT

Not going to help you much considering where your profile says you are but I had the same problem years ago for my Utah permit, PSP and local PD near me in Delaware County said they only do prints for employment. I finally got the sheriff in Chester County to do them and they were more than accommodating, even took the photo I needed for me.

Your best bet is to just call every LEO in your area and ask.

Here is a long shot for you.

Utah (which needs finger prints for its permit) has a listing of out of state instructors (https://bci.utah.gov/wp-content/uplo...te12142017.pdf).

Look through the list of phone numbers for 570 area codes. A few calls to people who deal with it on a regular basis may get you pointed in the right direction. One of them may have the equipment to do the prints themself.

All it will cost you is a few phone calls or emails.

When my son had to get finger printed for working with children in Boy/Cub Scouts, PSP background check and the UPS store by Dickson City...the finger print scan is run by the FBI if I recall...

I presume this is FL?
See if your sheriff dept. will do it.
If not consider an AZ permit. They're cheaper, almost the same reciprocity, and the prints can be done by anyone. You could do it yourself (technically). But they do need to be printed on the provided cards.

ETA: And AZ doesn't require fingerprinting to renew. One and done.

I got mine done at my local PD. They said they do it a lot, especially for security clearances.

If you're a military retiree, you might also check with the MPs or Retiree representative at Tobyhanna or Picatinney also (depending on which is closer).
