I saw ted nugent shoot a boar with a glock 10mm once. It's cool as hell, but I'd probably get the .44

Something about a wheelgun just seems more at home in the woods than a glock.

    I like the S&W 329...a lightweight 4" barrel .44mag. The gun is 26oz with .44mag punch. S&W also has a .44mag Nightguard series with a 2 1/2" barrel.

But I'm not a hunter so my opinion does not come from expierence.

BTW....I own a G20 and really like it. It rocks with the proper ammo, but is not in the same weight class with a .44mag.

I don't think you can use any kind of semi auto for hunting in Pa. Stick to the wheel gun.

I believe the law was changed recently as to the carrying of a semi auto handgun while hunting if you have a LTCF. I don't hunt so I know very little about game laws.

If you plan on using the handgun while hunting in PA you should probably get a revolver.

Yeah, but it can't be used to hunt with, or to dispach game. I think you need a handgun hunting permit to hunt wth a pistol, but i'm not 100% sure.

The law was changed last year. Here's the thread: http://www.pafoa.org/forum/hunting-2...a-gun-law.html

Also true that revolvers are the only legal handguns to use for hunting since semi-auto rifles and pistols aren't allowed.

As for a Glock 20 vs. a .44 Mag, I made the switch to a Glock 20 two years ago and haven't looked back. I was carrying a 3" S&W 629. I always use a shoulder holster for CC while hunting. Even with the 3" barrel the all steel .44 started to get heavy after a while. The Glock will certainly be less expensive, depending on what you were looking at in a .44. If you're dead set on a .44 mag, I'd suggest the S&W mountain gun or one of their other titanium models. Recoil is gonna be stiff with those suckers though. It was pretty stout in my all steel snubby.

Those will work. I carry the Doubletap 180 grain Hornady XTP's. http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/cat...roducts_id=122. You can't go wrong with any 10mm load from Doubletap, in my opinion.

The Glock 20 also has a firepower advantage, 16 rounds vs. 6. I've always shot my Glock 20 better than I did my little .44 due to the recoil, even with the hot Doubletap 10mm loads.
