Question Red Dot Sights and astigmatism?

Has anyone had LASIK surgery to correct an astigmatism? I also have presbyopia...

Magnified optics may be my only solution.

Dont have that issue however a decent 1x4 or 1x6 will probably give you the best of both worlds. If money is a factor like it is for a lot of us check out Primary Arms and Bushnell both give a lot for the money with their popular variables. There are also some excellent reviews on Youtube of all their offerings I recommend the ones by MrGunsnGear.

I have astigmatic eyes but NOT the Lasik surgery. I found that because of the astigmatism I had to wear my prescription glasses to see the DOT as a DOT and not a wooly caterpillar. Because my age was advancing and my near vision was rapidly disappearing I found (and still find) that precision shooting requires I use my prescription reading glassed to see, and focus on the DOT or front sight properly. Works OK for bullseye, but not so good for IDPA. Standard prescriptions for IDPA.

I had PRK surgery to correct astigmatism in 2007. Ten years later, I am still 20/20. Before the surgery I wore bifocals. I am just now starting to use reading glasses. The doc says I'm just lucky.
Boy, I say boy, you're reaching the limits of my medication!

And the bigger the dot, the woolier the caterpillar! Yes, me too. All I have so far are Walmart readers, which work great for reading, but are useless for looking through a scope or red dot. But, if I squint just right.....
