Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: I was not a good ambassador for open carry today. But .....
I was gonna start a new thread but decided to ask my question in this one.
If you do not have a concealment permit and wish to open carry...........how do you over come the laws regarding a firearm in a vehicle. Before you answer let me be more specific, I know you should unload and keep both gun and ammo separate in separate containers, not within reach of the front of the vehicle.
The exception to 6106 B8 list where you can legally transport your firearm, so when you want to go to Wawa or get gas or go to lunch how can you legally carry that gun in your vehicle?

OC is cool and all, until you want to go somewhere... then the problems begin.
Just get your LTCF.
The hoard will be along shortly to weigh-in.

Total agreement and I have LTCF. Have a friend who does not have a LTCF and still wants to OC but I see problems with the transport. I've read 6106 and re-read it and can not see an exception to drive to a Wawa, gas station or anywhere other than what is listed.

I could understand an exception for Sheetz, but Wawa? That's pushing it.

You don't see an exception to go to Wawa et al because there *is* no exception. Unlicensed vehicle transportation may only take place between home, range, gunshop, and/or gunsmith. You can't just pack it in the trunk until you get to the next town and take it back out to OC. Doesn't work that way.
I Am Not A Lawyer
P.S. - not saying I *agree* with the law(s), but that's what *is* at this time...

You've probably heard this one before but,,,,, This guy I work with is a total gun nut(no offence to anybody here). He has 8 pistols and the same amount of rifles. He says he got his ltcf when he turned 18. He's probably 45 or so now and when I told him that I got my ltcf last year he said to be sure to NOT open carry because you must CC with the license. I tell him he's totally wrong and look it up but he just says that's the way it has always been. DOPE
