Re: Another Maryland question
Vacation rental near Deep Creek. We do this every year with extended family over the holidays. Just curious - why does this matter? It's Maryland!

Re: Another Maryland question
I will be blunt. If you are uncomfortable not having a firearm while you are at home and sitting in your rental house.......just don't go!
Just lock the door when you get home. Its not like you can carry it anywhere else in the state anyway (where you might need it more).
Its Is this rental house in the Baltimore ghetto?

Re: Another Maryland question
Yeah, but Deep Creek Maryland is an entirely different world than Balto/DC area MD.
Your chances of getting caught are next to nothing up there in the sticks.
But that area really isn't anything to worry about.
You'd probably have more chance of getting attacked by a rabid opossum."One must be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves” ~ Machiavelli

Re: Another Maryland question
Okay, maybe a silly question, but here goes: If you pull your gun in MD, aren't you likely to end up with a felony firearms charge? And if convicted, you will not be legally allowed to own firearms any more? Why even bother bringing guns if you will not be able to use them? If it was me, I'd make sure that I rented in a safe area, and leave the guns at home.

Re: Another Maryland question
I say stay the #%*! out of Maryland. Spend your hard earned dollars in PA, or WV, or some such.
fritz1255 has a point, even if you do carry a firearm into the so called state of MD, what happens if you actually use it?

Re: Another Maryland question
Thank you for your comments but the original question was a source for MD law. I didn't ask for OPINIONS though but thank you for them. Its kind of like telling someone firmly rooted in a Communist state like MD or CA "just move". Our family meets from the various homesteads at Deep Creek Lake right after Christmas and over New Years day.
Let's end this discussion please.

Re: Another Maryland question
It is funny....every time I drive through a stretch of western Maryland on the way to/from Virginia, I think, "It's really too bad this is all Maryland - it would be such a nice place otherwise".

Re: Another Maryland question
Free,
I drive through MD a lot and it is a beautiful state. As we sit in our lake front rental, watching the lake freeze (woke up to -2 ) with a fire going, it's easy to forget the communist regime here.

Re: Another Maryland question
This is very valid question.
A. There are NO SAFE PLACES. Evil people travel, too.
2. Possessing a firearm changes you. If you never draw it, if you never point it at a threat, if you never shoot, it still changes you into armed prey. You DO carry yourself differently when armed. Predators can sense the difference.
Thirdly, better to be judged by 12 than buried by 6.American by BIRTH, Infidel by CHOICE
