Its a local WMA range, or I guess what you folks would call a SGL range?

I will try and snap a pic next time I venture out there. I try to avoid it during season, but its easier to sight in muzzle loaders there versus my normal range.

Snow kept me busy at home today. Anyone make it out today?

    Heading out today.
About 2 to 3 inches new snow.
2 flinters and myself with a SG will put on a few mini drives to see if they can score.

I don't drive hunt but have 2 deer. They have not been successful yet.

Looks like a good morning to be out.
    Leaving in a few minutes.

Good luck to guys going out.

Have fun and be safe! An additional foot of snow overnight keeps me home once again. Grrrrrrrrr

A great day to be in the woods.
Didn't see anything but a dozen squirrels.
Still hunted and posted till 1130.
Got about an inch and a half more snow while out.
Small granular stuff was blowing in my face.
Only one of the flinters came along.
He saw a deer going in but no shot.
I like how he stashed chairs here and there. Ha.
Came home and snowblowered mine and 3 other driveways.
    All done.
    Outstanding day in the woods.
Bunch of shooting after we left according to my camp buddy who lives close to the farm.

Hunted every day so far except for yesterday (Friday). Saw deer every day, took one shot at the neck of a deer and cleaned missed. Some days I only want to shoot a buck, other days just a high percentage shot.
I am carrying a monster flintlock that is not only long but super heavy. Catalog said it is over 10 pounds, and I would say 11. I never had a misfire with it, so I do have confidence in it. Great for standing, not so handy for pushing/driving deer.
My lighter carry rifle was having lock issues, so it is benched. I actually got a new expensive light one for Christmas, and it would only flash 1/4 times from a bench. Called the distributor and they said it is a too hard frizzen. So much for cry once. Sent the lock back, so I doubt i'll have a light carry rifle this season.

I got out for a couple of hours on Friday and until about noon today. Didn't see any deer but I was by myself with crunchy snow. Spent some time sitting and some time just wandering the woods, hoping to kick something out then follow up. No luck with either method. Did hear some turkeys and saw some squirrels.

The roads home from DuBois to Somerset were kind of dicey this afternoon. Not sure if I'll get out again or not.
