Green Shed Antlers
Not sure if this is the right forum but bear with me if it isn't
I got skunked as far as a fresh buck goes but I did find 2 sheds, 1 is pretty clean but the other 1 was mucky? And stained green, assuming from grass & leaves. I've used baking soda and dish soap followed by peroxide with a little baking soda. It helped but it still looks like the damn thing belongs on the hulk, any advice?Last edited by mikeybonez28; December 8th, 2017 at 11:21 PM.

Re: Green Shed Antlers
Bleach or leave it out in the sun during the summer?
Some people just plain suck.

Re: Green Shed Antlers
i dont want it to stay greenish but i thought bleach would damage the bone. i'll get a hold of some dawn ultimate and try that before bleaching, its just a really odd color for antlers. i'll snap a pic and upload it

The sun can bleach things white. I am not sure bleach but I don't think it will be too bad if you don't let the antler sit in it for too long.

Re: Green Shed Antlers
i just uploaded pics of both, the 2 pointer doesn't look as green as it did but it's still an odd hue. the 4 pointer had brown stains from leaves i'm guessing that mostly came out but either way i want to find many more in the next few months

They both look pretty good to me. Do you have plans for them?

Re: Green Shed Antlers
Nothing definite but I was thinking of a coat rack for the 4 pointer and a curtain hold back for the squiggly 2 pointer

Re: Green Shed Antlers
It's definitely been out there a while, I don't want it to look professional but just not as green as it was. It's not horrible now but it'll work for my purposes, I just thought I could clean it up a little more

Bury it in the garden, dig it up in June.
