You want a two stage affordable trigger get a RRA two stage match trigger you can find them on eBay new for $75.00 and they are a nice upgrade.

You can spend more on a trigger then you did on your rifle and since your new to the platform try putting rounds through it if you want to get your marksmanship skills up. A $250.00 trigger won't be coming with range time and fundamentals.
Agreed about trigger time. I don't have a lot of rounds downrange with it yet, but enough to know I don't like the trigger. It's moderately smooth, but long pull, a bit of stacking, and a vague release don't make shot to shot consistency easy. I guess I should have given a price range. I've priced a few and am willing to part with a C note on it. Not trying to make a sniper rifle out of a carbine.

    Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

BTW, "ALG" is short for Amy Lynn Geissele. She is Bill Geissele's wife. Her company sells pretty much the same triggers as her husband's company without having to pay for the name.
Also, some rather nice Kalashnikov rifle triggers.

This^ was the way to go if happy with 2-stage. Did two of mine and installed some for friends. At the time, they were about $120. I'm glad to see they are not as high now.

Probably the best under $100 trigger out there.

On sale on RRA website for $96. But their shipping rates SUCK.

Primary Arms has them in stock for $89

Joebobs has them at $99 shipped

Righttobear.com $79.99 - I THINK they have flat rate $5 shipping - may be free at that price. Not sure

The OP wanted it understandable. Get a Timney trigger assembly, just under $200, easy instructions, drop in trigger and you'll be good to go. I have over 2000 rounds through a AR Ruger 556 and no problems with the Timney trigger assembly.

I am a Geissele fan boy. The Super Dynamic Enhanced, or SD-E is my current favorite. I would try as many different triggers as you can. What is great for one shooter is lousy for another. In other words, "the best" trigger is highly subjective. Good luck in your search.

Subjective, perhaps. Ever hear the phrase "gilding the lily"?

Pounds (or ounces) pull, glass rod break, zero grit, zero take-up, zero over-travel, perfect reset, perfect placement and configuration for the finger, and the rest is hype to claim being better or best.

I bought a POF - Patriot Ordnance Factory trigger at Tanners for $109. They're made by Timney. Seems nice. Haven't installed it yet.

    No shit? All of them?

I have the POF 4.5 lb drop in trigger in my AR pistol.
Nice trigger, but I think I mentioned earlier that I don't care for how narrow the face of the trigger is. (where the pad of your finger presses)
