How many of you were checked by WCO's
On Saturday, I shot a decent doe.
The uphill drag and down to the truck after crossing the crick is taking it's toll. Ha.
I placed the doe on my deer carrier as another Hunter driving a quad stopped to bullshit.
A Game commission SUV stopped and the 2 officers came over to check us out.
We introduced ourselves as did they and they said they would like to see our licences etc.
No problem.
My officer checked my hunting license, my antlerless tag, the ear portion of the tag, my driver license to verify it was me and asked to see the rifle I shot the deer with.
I uncased the rifle and she checked to make sure it was unloaded.
The loaded Ruger Redhawk was on the seat but didn't concern her when I said I had a LTCF and I also told her I had a concealed sidearm as well even though i know there is no duty to inform.
It went smooth for me and she commented on the decent sized doe.
I had a question about dispatching a car hit deer and she detailed how that could be handled.
I left when she was done.
The other Hunter on the quad had a rifle on a front mounted rack and I heard him tell officer #2 That he didn't have his license on him.
I wasn't sure where that went.
How many of you were checked out by a WCO this deer season and were all the results ok?Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

Re: How many of you were checked by WCO's
Haven't even seen one so far. I keep waiting though, when the neighbor combined the corn field in front of my stand, he spilled some corn in the soybean stubble behind my stand. Looks like a classic bait pile and not far from the road. Maybe I should call it 'a bait pile to attract the WCO'. LOL!

I talked to a buddy of mine.
When I told him they checked me out, he said I was the 4th person he has talked to that was checked.
I have no problem with them doing so. It is their job.
I think the last time I even spoke to a game commission officer (aside from a handgun class) was when my 40 yo son went through his Hunter ed classes at age 12.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

I had them around my house a few times, they’re after a neighbor for baiting.

I guess if you want to see an WCO, you really have to hunt around for one.

Not in the field, but some uniformed guys (not sure if they were game commission or not, didn't get close up to them) were checking all cars coming out of Kings Gap in Micheaux State Forest on opening day of rifle season. Just asked me if I shot anything , when I said no, they waved me on. I've seen them multiple times when I've hunted there with my FIL.
I'm faster than Doc Holliday (with Novocaine of course)

Ive been going to the same public range on gamelands for the last four years and never saw a WCO.
But this fall they were there checking people for hunting license or range permit (required to shoot there)."One must be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves” ~ Machiavelli
