    Default Chocolate Buck?

I might sound a bit crazy but when I was hunting Friday I came across what I consider a monster buck, as wide as a linebacker and the height of a NBA player not including the rack. The really weird part was the color, he was a deep chocolate brown not the usual tan or light brown. I haven't been able to find a pic that comes close but I'm pretty sure I wasn't dreaming or seeing things. If I can land him tomorrow I'll be posting pictures for sure

Has anyone else come across a buck that color before or even a doe?

Is there any chance of a moose running around up there?

No moose & no Christmas horse, he was close to the size of a horse though. Similar color compared to that horse's chest though. Weirdest looking but most beautiful deer I've ever seen

    Stop! No! Don't shoot him!

    His name is Blitzen.

    He's a rain deer.

I lost him Thanksgiving night on a practice run.

    Ho ho ho.

Look up melanistic deer. They are really rare. Super dark. My dad's buddy shot one about 10 yrs ago.

Some people feel compelled to shoot such anomalies, I'd be inclined to let it go (if I hunted). Huge fish, on the other hand, ends up on my dinner plate.
