''Each state would still have control over when and where gun carry would be allowed inside its borders.''
So it's basically meaningless.I don't speak English , I talk American!

Re: It's out of committee...
Consider this: Many states having few CCers don't have terrible restrictions on *where* carry is permitted, because a) CCers tend to be the elite, and b) there's just not enough of them to bother.
Given that the version(s) of the bill I have read include magazines and ammo as part of the gun I will be able - at the very least - not have to panic about losing FOPA protections if I need to stop for gas or a flat tire, or take the time to disarm and lock everything up just to transit 12 miles of MD.
I'm sure there are restrictions on places like schools and bars, but lots of states have those and we manage to adapt when we visit those.
Not becoming a felon when crossing an imaginary line has a very calming influence on me.

Re: It's out of committee...
So far all I read out of this is the Commie states will complicate their laws so much against us. Folks will wrongly read the bold print "National Reciprocity" and we will see an endless stream of arrests, court cases and and lots of nice confiscated "war trophy's" going to the Liberal melting furnace
I really hope it ends up much simpler and clearer....nationwide constitutional carry ? , yes I know I'm dreaming

The 2nd amendment should all ready cover national reciprocity. That being said, passing HR 38 is payback for Obamacare.

Re: It's out of committee...
I typed- How many concealed carry permit holders have committed crimes with their firearm. And got this:
Originally Answered: How many concealed carry permit holders have committed crimes with their firearm?
From what I can tell the number is so low as to be hard to find any.
However in an effort to provide a better answer;
Police officers roughly 100 firearms violations per 100,000 officers
CCW holders 3 firearms violations per 100,000 CCW holders, I took the liberty to round down for police and round up for CCW holders.
On top of that it is also worth noting that states that allow for concealed carry have a 31% lower incidence of crime over the ones that don’t.

That’s 41 pages of source material.
So the cops are worse than Concealed Carrys
