Laser trainers??
I'm thinking about getting into laser training for pistols. Any body have a setup wh works and has "feel" of real pistol?

Re: Laser trainers??
I have this one. The new ones are better. My first one drains the batteries if left in the unit. New ones don't. Their laser sights have this capability built in. Get the targets that move, like the cans. It will help to keep it interesting. No way around it, they are expensive. Look for sales.

Been using this one for years.
The trigger is a little soft though.Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Laser trainers??
I picked up a system called Laserhit recently and it is working well. 99 dollars gets you one caliber specific cartridge, a tripod and they’re custom target. The download app is free but has options for ten dollars each. I enjoy it much more with double action guns as you can see in the video. Re: Laser trainers??
I have a SIRT training pistol. The grip is really similar to my Glock 17. The trigger is fully adjustable and you get weights to adjust how heavy the magazine is. I even use the dummy mags in my real gun. You can also install any sight you want on it.
It works well. It's nice to have a normal trigger pull every time while dry firing. Normally you only get one on a Glock while dry firing then the trigger is dead. One negative thing about laser trainers is watching the laser and not looking at the sight picture. It's really easy to do, so you have to keep it in mind while using it.

Re: Laser trainers??
I bought an inexpensive small laser and put it on my SAR K2 45 for practice, meaning no round in chamber only. So far it has worked well and have decided to keep it mounted on the pistol.

I sorted it to sort out how I had to adjust my trigger pull and so far has survived several mags of real rounds.
It is not extremely powerful and I would not use it as the primary method of aim, but under low light conditions it gives an other option if needed.

This could be useful for someone who has a holster designed to accommodate a weapon mounted light (LEOs especially). Video yourself drawing and firing at a blank wall; this'll let you see how efficient your draw stroke is, your presentation to the target, and what the laser does when you fire.
For those without a holster like that, you can still video to see your presentation to the target from a low ready, as well as what the laser is doing when you pull the trigger.
