Potheads are the dregs of society. Potheads murdered a friend of mine for his pot. Potheads aren't non violent like pot advocates are trying to blow smoke up everyone's ass about.

So your telling us low life scum bags are low life scum bags? I think they would have turned out the same regardless of the POT. Sorry about your friend my Cousin was murdered over some ridiculous garbage while her kids slept in the other room.

Got me wondering. A prescribed medication is going to prohibit firearms ownership.
Computerized medical records attempting to document firearms ownership.
How far of a jump is it to extend this process to other medications?
Antidepressants and warning of suicidal thoughts come to mind.
Someone has a rough spot in their life, gets help and next thing they know they're prohibited.
No I'm not on any, but know some who are or were at some point.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

Funny you ask as I just received this from the GOA regarding the NICS Fix bill that is BI partisan sponsored.

The goal of the Cornyn-Feinstein-Murphy-Schumer bill is to force every single potential NICS name to be sent to the FBI's NICS system.

It was prompted by reports that the Air Force did not send the name of the Sutherland Springs shooter to NICS -- even though he certainly could have gotten a firearm in a wide variety of ways, even if he had been in NICS, and even though his carnage was stopped by the real solution to violence ... a good guy with a gun.

The problem is that, because of this isolated horror story, the Cornyn bill could add the names of millions of additional law-abiding Americans to NICS.

You already know of the 257,000 veterans who have lost their rights because of a bad experience in Iraq.

You already know that 95% of NICS denials are "false positives."

And you probably also know that "Fix NICS" would require that the rolls of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and ObamaCare be trolled for recipients with PTSD, ADHD, or Alzheimer's -- that is, people who have had guardians appointed.

What you may not know is that the SECOND LARGEST CATEGORY of prohibited persons is "fugitives from justice" -- and that a good portion of these are Americans who have UNPAID TRAFFIC TICKETS.

I would love to hear the reasons why responsible adults with ADHD would be denied ownership of a firearm. I happen to know a very very competent Neurosurgeon who was diagnosed with ADHD very early on in his life. The GOV gave him a license to him to perform surgeries on other human beings saving their lives sometimes.

Yet he will be unable to purchase a firearm?

That's because the ROS is registration by using weasel words.
Ok, my bad - I made the sarcasm tag too light to see.

Never said you were wrong, or that you weren't justified.

I was just attempting (poorly, it seems) to acknowledge that it seems to be one of your pet peeves.

Except not every firearm owned by PA residents are listed. So it is not an accurate “registry”.

The problem lies not with the ROS, but with officers who believe it is a complete and accurate registry and utilize it as such.

Now what is going to happen when NJ legalizes recreational marijuana? Will you be placed on a registry when you buy some?

Then we will have the case of buying something legal in NJ but charged with a felony when you drive over the state line. Like legally owning a firearm here and being a felon in NJ.

How long can these laws really last?

Until Americans stop allowing ourselves to be intentionally divided by politicians and the media and take back our country.

Thread shows me that plenty of gun owners are as bad as the Left when it comes to infringing the Rights of others. Everyone has their pet peeves and enthusiastically jump on board if something they don’t like can be legislated with punitive damages.

Here’s an idea, accept that with freedom comes sacrifice. Realize that no matter how awesome you think you are someday the target might be you. I’ll stand in defense of you but you don’t deserve it

Sorry, I get tunnel vision when the ROS subject comes up.

Potheads still do suck though. No good can ever come from using that garbage.
