I unfortunately agree with you Aggies. I don't think it reciprocity ever stood a chance of making it past the Senate.

The only way it will pass is through the media.

    Of course.
The house passes shit because it can, knowing full well it won't go anywhere.
The Senate can't pass bills that it agrees with, much less anything with a hint of controversy. Unless it involves raising my taxes or their pay.

No way this is going through the Senate.

Now that is has moved to the Senate, can we continue to follow it here or is there now a Senate bill # applied to it to watch instead?

i overlooked the fact that in a few days we'll have roy moore on senate and in a few weeks we may be gone a franken.
tips the tables a little since it's adding a vote for us and removing one for them instead of simply flipping one.

Franken hasn't resigned yet and he's still voting. If Moore wins and is seated Franken will resign and leave. The democrat will then use the situation with Moore having unsubstantiated sexual misconduct to beat weak and constantly disoriented republicans over the head with unsubstantiated sexual misconduct charges. The me too I want to get paid women will all over the media. Women are easily fooled by all of this stuff I'm sorry to say.

It has a chance of passing. In 2013 reciprocity lost by 3 votes 57 to 43. Looking at some of the changes in the Senate, a few people who voted no are gone replaced by people who have a strong chance of voting yes for reciprocity. Joni Ernst who replaced Tom Hawkins in Iowa. Mike Rounds who replaced Tim Johnson in South Dakota. Shelly Moore Capito who replaced John Rockefeller iv in West Virginia.

Looking at those who voted yes last time, there has been one major game changer that I can see. Kelly Ayotte who voted yes in 2013, was replaced by Maggie Hassan who would probably be a no vote.

That leaves us at 59 yes votes as is.

If some of the traditional no votes are tempted by background checks, who knows how they will vote.

A long shot, but this could possibly be closer than some might think.

If it is reciprocity alone and goes to a vote, I think it goes down 59-41

Unfortunately, it's a different political climate than '13 too. Trump ran with this as part of his campaign. The Dems and some Rep are completely determined to vote against anything Trump promised in the election constituents, values, morals, etc, etc ,etc be damned. All they care about is making it seem like Trump doesn't accomplish anything he promised by the next election. They don't gaf about anything else and they're doing a decent job so far.
