Non resident carry permit
Hi everyone,
So I have a full carry pistol permit in NYS. I own property in pike county and want to be able to carry to my property when I go. My understanding is pike county will not issue non resident, does anyone know is there an exception for property owners?
Thanks an advance,
Frank

Or Lackawanna. Bueki is on his way out. Not sure if it’s gonna change things. If you’re in your property you can carry all you want.

Re: Non resident carry permit
It's not legal for him to "not issue to nonresidents". Your options are to press the issue and make him approve or deny your application. Since he has no real reason to deny you, it would likely go in your favor. It would require getting a lawyer and spending lots of time and$$$ fighting it.
Option 2 would be to get a nonresident license from another county. Non-resident can apply at any county in PA and there are plenty of ones that are friendly to them.

Re: Non resident carry permit
Thanks for your responses. I'm definitely going to a different county and applying. I called pike county sheriffs today and explained my situation that I'm a Pike county property owner and I have a full carry in my state, knowing that what they are doing is wrong and should at least accept my application, his response was "your not a full time resident goodbye!" Glad I pay pike county taxes! I've also heard Berk county does it while you wait.

Re: Non resident carry permit
Just (1/18) got my non-resident renewal (originally issued in Pike) in Lackawanna. Quick , efficient, and polite. In and out in 15 minutes. Well done.
