What I got at the show today

The GEM & JEWELRY SHOW!!!

Had free passes to the Gem & Jewelry show at the Monroeville Expomart so I took my wife (It's like HER version of a gun show!) and followed her around til I came upon this artist who paints coins.
He paints them, then they are coated in some type of clear resin and mounted in gold(?) or silver. Pendants, cuff links, money clips...
BEAUTIFUL work.
I've seen painted coins before that looked "cheesy" because the paint was opaque and just looked like a kid colored over the design on the coin. These seem to combine opaque and translucent colors so you can still see the detail of the coin. They look SO MUCH BETTER in person than this photo shows. I was looking for something somewhat "patriotic/american" and it took me 15 minutes to decide on this one.

I was looking at the site and I must say that the coins do not look ANYWHERE near as nice as they do in person.
I've been needing a new clip for a while and decided that $55 wasn't too bad for something this unique.
The military branch coins that I saw were very nicely done.

You can tell from the photo that its nice painting. Defently a professional. Now if he had one with two AKs on it I'd be pretty happy.
