I looked at google earth and the neighborhood looks bad. The crime rate without checking has to be off the charts. The guy looks old for 61 and feeble most likely the victim of excessive bullying. He was probably scared shitless when the rock came through his window. If you look at the window frame its bent pretty bad. The rock must have been quite large. while I cant agree with his tactics, or lack there of, he acted in the moment, just like some of the NY Cops.

Are the shingles on that house next door installed upside down (or downside up)?

I'm not sure what's going on with those shingles.
Almost looks like someone cut up a bunch of 3 tab shingles so they could be inlaid over existing shingles.
