    Wow. Was this recently? No way to shoot a lot of self defense ammo since most of it seems to be nickel plated.

    Meaning no ammo with the word MAGNUM on the headstamp. You can Elmer Keith loaded .44 Specials , but not mid-range loads in .44 MAGNUM cases. You can shoot .30 Carbine , but not .32 H&R MAGNUM.
    That is like the fps rule I posted. Completely lacks logic.

    I have wondered why most self defense ammo is nickel plated. Is it just because they charge so much? Or because they don't want the brass to discolor?

    corrosion resistance, and smoother feeding/extracting. basically it makes it a hair more reliable, for those times when splitting hairs differences, well, make a difference.

    ...hmm, not sure if sarcastic or sincere, so I’ll go with sincere.

    The members at my private club are very safety conscious with range rules designed accordingly. We also carry 5 million in liability insurance in case one of our members does something stupid.

    Reprimanded once : all rifle barrels must be pointed down below horizontal, even when trying to load rounds into a tube fed rifle. "Here you go buddy, show me the trick".
