I cannot understand why you all are so rude to the people claiming to have seen them. None of these witnesses have anything to gain by coming forward with sightings. They are trying to warn you to watch your back and you treat them like shit.

Sightings have never stopped being reported from the time that the State claims to have wiped them out. Plenty of evidence has been collected over the years but most of the population has some irrational fear that prevents them from seeing things for what they really are.

    Nothing to see there.

It's just an abnormally big tan bobcat.

One more time through the revolving door.

A single anything can pass through or wonder in and no one is denying that including the game commission. When they say there are no lions here they are speaking about a breeding and sustainable population.

Animals passing through from....? Do our bordering states have mountain lions?

Considering the length and breadth of Pennsylvania, a pass through would take considerable time, during which the animal would need to

    eat....leaving signs of same
drink....keeping them within distance of water
    poop...leaving signs of same
    pee....leaving signs of same
    leave tracks in soft ground

When chasing prey, being seen becomes a secondary consideration, increasing chances of being seen.

Animals have roaming patterns. Deer remain in a relatively small area from birth to death. Bear are said to wander 100 miles within a week. What ranging patterns do mountain lions exhibit?

I'm not taking sides. I have no idea whether Pennsylvania has resident mountain lions or if their passing through is happening.

California passed anti-hunting laws 20 or more years ago that caused an increase in their mountain lion population. As a result, occasionally mountain lion attacks on humans occurs. Has any happened in Pennsylvania?

The lion killed in CT roamed from SD.

As to treating someone poorly that claims mountain lion encounters, they often claim multiple encounters and have conspiracies about PAGC cover-ups. The why-would-they is a question only they can answer. Meanwhile, folks that spend weeks in the field for jobs, recreation etc. never see any. The prevalence of game and surveillance cameras has done more to disprove the existence of a breeding population in this state more than anything else.

Those pictures, if they are a mountain lion, are the first I've seen that have been confirmed to be in PA. And I have always made allowances for a rogue wanderer. Just not woods with sustainable mountain lion populations that no one ever sees. All I ever ask for is some proof. Provide some evidence of what you claim. All I ever get are excuses. I've been countering these claims for years because they irk me.

Mtn Lions don't care if the game commission doesn't think they can get laid in PA. They are reproducing anyway. Many people throughout the state have seen their offspring.

The 2nd photo makes it pretty clear that it's a bobcat. See the distinctive stripes on the inside of the leg. And that's what people keep seeing and think they're seeing mountain lions. There are no sustainable populations of mountain lions in PA.

The lack of a long tail as thick as 3” is also a giveaway.
