Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
There are probably few states without them. They may not be permanent residents.
But I used to live in Connecticut, and they constantly denied the fact that Cougars had a presence. My best friend saw a neighbors video of one running in the back yard. Yet, Connecticut still says Cougars are not there.
Well, they may not be there on a permanent basis, but Cougars I am sure roam both Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
I have been told that cougars hunt a 100-120 mile circle. They also are supposed to cover the area approx. every 5-7 days. If this is true the confirmed sightings would allow quite a large area for just one pair.
Several years ago we had a session with a big cat that was able to pull down and drag a 250-300 lb. calf. Even though there were claw marks and the attack was from behind Conservation cops said it was dogs.Courage is being scared to death--but saddling up any way. John Wayne

Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
I think the PGC should introduce about a dozen (mating pairs or not) Mountain Lions into North Park. It would cut down on the goose poop problem as well as reducing the number of overweight Whitetails that are constantly grazing on my plants and shrubs. Not to mention their ongoing conspiracy to wreck my vehicle by jumping out in front of it. :-)
By the way, I wouldn't mind if they took out some of those pain-in-the-ass bicyclists who think they own the road. :-)"He was born with the gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad."

Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
I swear I saw one a mile from my home in Wyoming County 2 years ago. It was crossing Route 29. It was dusk, so it was difficult to see, but based on its gate, long hanging tail, and size you won't convince me it was anything else. It was definitely a large cat and did not move like a bobcat.

Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
We have Bobcats here in NE. Pa. people could mistake one for a mountian lion. They get shot every year. No one shots a mountian lion. I don't think they are here, but you never know.

Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
I have a hard time believing that they are in fact here. How many hunters have we had out in the woods since the last official documented sighting? I've head stories, people swear they've seen them. I heard a better argument for the existence of bigfoot here than Mt Lions
Could parts of the state support them? yesThe resident Saiga snob

Re: ARE THERE MOUNTAIN LIONS IN PA?
Remember mountain lions are hunters, they're a bit more adept at not being sighted than deer.
Also, how is saying look how many hunters we have and than saying we hear reports but I don't buy them. Those two arguments contradict each other.
