Default Looking for advice on cc.

Im interested in peoples thoughts and experiences with working around gun free zones. I have 2 young kids that play sports. That means im generally at some game on school property every weekend. I work in New Jersey so i can't carry there either.

I have an underseat lockbox in the jeep. For those in similar situations do you just not carry that day or until you gat back home or do you just lock up your gun in the lockbox and park off school property?

Thoughts other than get a new job and new kids that don't play sports.

    Thanks

I believe as long as you have your ltcf you can park on school property with your gun in your car. Just can't carry it with you. If I'm wrong I'm sure I will be corrected. I personally will leave it at home if going to a gfz. I'm not fond of leaving my firearm unattended in my vehicle.

The Delaware County district attorney Jack Whelan has publicly stated that he won't prosecute school firearm possession due to the Commonwealth v Goslin ruling. But he just won an election to become a judge, so I don't know how long he remains DA or who replaces him.

edit: Just adding that isn't a guarantee that you won't go through the hassle of getting arrested in the first place.

Read the text of the law and search for related articles. Weigh the pros and cons of having and not having a gun with you at such places. Decide if you would be willing to deal with the bs that might come or the problems that could happen if you are caught in a situation where you need a gun and don't have one.

After all that YOU will need to make your decision. It can be tough being an honest person trying to balance following the law and protecting your family. The cloudy nature of many gun laws make it tougher.

School property is school property. Doesn't matter if it's on your person, or in your vehicle, the law doesn't make a distinction between the two. You can hope for the "other lawful purpose" defense, but your still gonna be doing the whole song and dance with the LEO, the DA, the judge, and a whole lot of cash.

Thanks folks. Correct. I don't even bring a slingshot to Jersey. I also dont take the risk of carrying or even locking it up in the lockbox on any school property or on a nearby street. I have just not carried at all.

Thats what I was asking, what do others in a similar situation as mine do?
