Nope.. exactly like a AR-15 except to cycle the bolt one works the fore handguard like a pump shotgun..
looks identical to a regular AR-15 from a distance

Simple enough: replace the gas tube with an op rod and modify the bolt like in a piston gun. Operate with the slider built into the heat shield. Talk about a way to drive fudds crazy. I wonder how they handle the recoil spring arrangement and lock the bolt during firing? It would be neat to have a folding adjustable stock on a standard AR.

Also a non folding model for a lot less money.

I had a view PAR-1 AK's that were converted to pumps by importers during the Clinton AWB. There are a few manufacturers making them now for AR's and they are popular in CA and Canada.

Bolt lockup is the same as any other AR-15, forward movement on the pump pulls the bolt carrier forward and rotates the bolt. There isn't a recoil spring or buffer setup at all.

Thanks, I forgot the rotation does the locking so there is no unlocking until the bolt is moved by the action bar. The picture in my head was a little fuzzy.

EDIT: in my version the op rod does not connect to the bolt, the rod pushes back, and the spring returns it. Kind of like the operating handle works. You could also connect them so the pump goes both ways so that is another way.

Sounds like a little forward pressure might wisely be kept on the action during firing.

It's my understanding an AR can't fire out of battery. Take a look at the video below. The video is poorly made, but it pretty much explains why.

    Toujours prêt
