Yeah, that seems like the best way to protect yourself.

Might as well GTFO under the radar without even given her a chance to call police and claim you pushed or hit her.

That why its always good to have at least one car in your own name and a separate bank account.

I'll parrot another story of a good friend in a divorce/PFA situation. Wife claims he sexually abused the 5 year old daughter. He's arrested, then released on bail and a PFA easily issued. Wife was already moved out of the house, leaving the daughter with him. Coincidence? Right. He didn't see his daughter for 2 years and had to pay for countless psych eval's for both him and the daughter, plus court costs, attorney's fees, etc. After about 6 months he was fortunate enough to find an attorney that realized how broken the system was and he took his case pro bono. Guy was still out about $8k. The wife had 2 master's degrees, but couldn't find a job. He was an unskilled manufacturing working who lost his job, but according to the courts, he was 'able' to work, and she wasn't. In and out of court with the wife not speaking one word of truth during the whole time. After that time the 'system' finally determined the accusations were unfounded, charges dropped, and case dismissed, but he still only got supervised visits 2x/month for several months that transitioned into every other weekend and one week a year. 'Protect the child' was what he was continually told.
