38 Special for catching deers?

Caught a few with my car but my 9mm was in my pocket so maybe they smelt it.

Deer have been killed with much less. Everything is relative to the useful range of the cartridge.

Will a 38 spl with a 158 gr swc or wfn kill a little white tail , sure it will a 35 cal hole in both lungs and they will bleed out, how is your tracking skills ....... would I use one ? Nope I have better choices that will deliver some shock along with the needed pentatration . But If I was down and out and my family was hungry and needed meat and a 4 inch 38 spl is the only thing I had to use I'd make darn sure I was under 25 yds and could take out both lungs with the shot .

Would you trust 9mm to kill deer? Because it's operates at a higher velocity than a .38 with 125 grain pills.

If it was under 15 yards and I could use my Glock 17, yes.
