Why was I worried?

Back in the early 90's, I was living in Westmoreland county, and was about to go get my first carry permit. I didn't know anyone with one and was concerned about how tough it would be to get one,,,until I walked into the sheriffs office to apply. The desk that you went to, where there was a female deputy sitting had a cartoon hanging. I forget the picture, but it had the following caption: "The only reason some people aren't dead is because it's against the law to kill them". I almost giggled out loud. Can you just imagine if that was hanging in a sheriff's office nowadays? LOL

I recall at Headquarters in Yaphank N Y a sign in the Pistol License section said Were Cops Your Not ! Always thought that was a stupid analogy because when shit happens the Cops are only minutes away,and in the meantime fiddle your thumbs ! No Secret even in the 1980s !
