Re: Is .357 Sig dead?
Usually when someone makes a necked down wildcat cartridge they take the original case, neck it down (you might have to trim it), then you shoot it as is. Worst case you might have to fireform it. You should ALWAYS be able to make a necked down case from the parent case. That Sig did is BS. Their case is 25 thousandths longer (after necking a .40 down).
You can form a Sig case from a .40 in a pinch but NO ONE designs a wildcat that way. All they had to do was put a 357 neck on a .40 and we would be talking about the .357 Sig for the next 50-100 years. Instead they got greedy and wanted to sell you their special brass.

Then you would have 9x25 Dillon. Or have to trim it to 357 Sig length and use large pistol primers (most common) brass instead of small pistol.

Re: Is .357 Sig dead?
I have some 10mm brass around here but I never tried it. You would have to trim the 10mm brass down quite a bit which would likely start getting into the web of the case, so it may need to be neck reamed. Then you have to use a large pistol primer. Really better off trading 10mm brass with someone for .357sig, probably get 2 or 3 sig cases for one 10mm. I can get $40 per 1k .357sig brass online so I don't bother messing with .40 brass or any of that. Only negative to buying fired brass online is you get a lot of Speer brass with the teeny weeny flash hole.

Re: Is .357 Sig dead?
If HK made the P30 in .357 Sig, that's what I'd carry.
